Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co 8x25 Monocular

Das vorliegende 8x25 Monokular ist nicht vergützet und stammt daher vermutlich aus der Vorkriegszeit. Der obere Deckel ist mit "Supplied by Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co. 63 Farringdon Road London E.C.1" und "8x" beschriftet. Am unteren Deckel ist im Bogen am Objektivansatz "Made in France" eingraviert. Das Gehäuse und der kurze konische Objektivtubus haben eine Hartgummi- oder Rauhlackummantelung. Die Messingdeckel ohne Schrauben sind schwarz lackiert. Das rechtseitige Okular hat eine 3/3 Kunststoffaugenmuschel inkl. Dioptrienteil. Ein wahrscheinlich etwas späteres 8x25 Monokular, das von Broadhurst Clarkson & Co. vertrieben wurde, hat die Vertreiberbeschriftung am unteren Deckel, die optischen Angaben auf dem oberen Deckel, eine 2/3 Augenmuschel mit einem Metalldioptrienring und eine lackierte Objektivfassung ohne konischen Ansatz sowie einfach verschraubte Deckel. Es dürfte aufgrund der Okular und Augenmuschelkonstruktion ebenfalls in Frankreich gefertigt worden sein.

This 8x25 monocular is uncoated, thus probably dating from a pre-war production. The top cover is marked "Supplied by Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co. 63 Farringdon Road London E.C.1" and "8x". The bottom cover is engraved "Made in France" which curves around the objective tube. The housing and the short conical objective tube have an Ebonite or rough paint covering, the brass covers have no screws and are painted black. The right-hand sided ocular has got a 3/3 plastic eyecup including the dioptre part. A probably later 8x25monocular, which was distributed by Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co., has the distributor's name marked on the bottom cover, while the optical data is engraved oon the top cover. IT comes with a 2/3 eyecup and a metal dioptre ring. The obejctive frame is paitned black, but has no conical part. The cover plates have one screw. Due to its eyepeice and eyecup construction it must be a French make as well.
