Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co. 10x27 Monocular

Dieses handliche Porro-1-Prismenmonokular zeichnet sich in der Form durch den Objektivtubus aus. Der untere Deckel ist mit "Made in France" beschriftet und weist so auf das Herstellungsland hin, während der obere Deckel den englischen Vertreiber "Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co." und dessen Adresse "63 Faringdon Road, London EC" nennt. Mit dem darüber stehenden Hinweis "Adjusted by" wird hingewiesen, dass der Verteiber, das Glas entweder etwas optisch geändert oder die Optik justiert hat. Links neben dem rechtsseitigen Okular findet man die Vergrößerungsangabe "10x". Die 3/3 Kunststoffaugenmuschel ist auf den drehbaren Teil des Okulars aufgeschraubt (vgl. Augenmuschel bei BBT Ktauss) und hat eine Dioptreinskala von +/-7 mit Kennzeichnungen bei 0 und +/-5. Die schwarz lackierten Deckel sind unverschraubt, das Gehäuse und der Objektivtubs haben eine Rauhlackummantelung.

This handy porro 1 prism monocular features a short conical objective tube. The bottom cover plate is marked "Made in France", denoting the country of production. The top cover plate says "Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co." for the distributing firm plus its address "63 Faringdon Road, London EC". The introducing words "Adjusted by" convey that either the glass was colliminated or somehow changed by Boadhurst, Clarkson & Co. To the left of the right-hand sided ocular the magnification "10x" is given. The 3/3 plastic eyecup is screwed onto the metal focusing part of the ocular (cf. eyecups by BBT Krauss) and has a dioptre scale with lines fom + to - 7, but marked at 0 and +/-5. The black lacquered cover plates have no screws. The housing and the objective tube have a crinkle paint covering.

Das 10x27 ist 120-125mm lang, hat ein 42x42mm bzw. 46x46mm schmales und 52mm hohes Gehäuse und wiegt mit Trageriemen 216g. Die Durchmesser sind an der Augenmuschel 32mm, am Okular 22mm, und beim Objektivtubus 32-36mm. Aufgrund der Vergrößerungsangabe ohne Obejktivdurchmesser und da die Optiken unvergütet sind, müsste es sich hier um ein Vorkriegsmodell handeln.

The 10x27 is 120-125mm long, has a 42x42mm or 46x46mm wide and 52mm long housing. It weighs 216g with its strap. Diameters are: eyecup 32mm, eyepiece 22nn, objective tube 32-36mm. Because of the magnification given without stating the objective diameter and because the optics are uncoated, it must be a pre-war make.
