Galileisches Monokular "Army & Navy"

Hier ist ein mit Leder bezogenes 426g schweres Beobachtungsglas (Monokular) mit Gallileischem Linsensystem und der Beschriftung "Army & Navy" am schwarz lackiertem Auszugstubus. Das Glas ist aus Messing und hat auch eine Messingaugenmuschel, die der Augenhöhle muschel-förmig angepasst ist. Die Objektivlinse misst 48mm (sichtbarer Durchmesser). Es wird eine Vergrößerung von ca. 3,5fach erreicht. Das Monokular ist 16,5 - 19,8cm lang, am Objektivtubus 62mm, oben 42mm, am Auszugstubus 32,5mm, am Okularstück 43mm und an der Augenmuschel 37mm im Durchmesser.
Das Glas stammt aus der Zeit zwischen 1880 und dem 1. Weltkrieg

Galilean Monocular "Army & Navy

Here is a leather covered spy-glass (monocular) with a Galilean lens system weighing 426g. It is marked "Army & Navy" at its draw tube which is made of brass and painted black. The whole body is made of brass as well as the eyecup which has ashell shape fitting to a man'S eye socket. The objective lens is 48mm (visible diameter). the glass has some 3.5 times magnification, and is 16.5 - 19.8cm in length. The diameter of the tube parts are: objective tube 62mm, at the objective tube top 42mm, draw tube 32.5mm, eyepiece 43mm, eyecup 37mm.
The glass dates from about 1880 to WWI.
