ROW 25x60
| Das 25x60 Spektiv wurde als Versuchsmodell in kleiner Stückzahl (5 St.) von den Rathenower Optischen Werken (ROW) um 1961 gebaut und sollte ggf. als kostengünstigere Alternative zum VEB Carl Zeiss Asiola herausgebracht werden. Die Zusammenlegung aller optischen Werke zu einem Zeiss Kombinat in der DDR scheint aber das Vorhaben unterbunden zu haben. Das Spektiv wurde aus einem "ROW" beschrifteten Fernrohrtubus mit 60mm Objektiv und einem angesetztten "Genira" Monokular-Gehäuse konstruiert. "Genira", so die Deckelbeschriftung, steht für die Fa. Gebrüder Nitschke Rathenow, die vor dem 2. Weltkrieg und in geringer Zahl nach dem Krieg Ferngläser herstellte -auch als Marke von ROW (vgl. Genira 6x30). Die Dioptrieeinstellung reicht von +3 bis -4. |
The 25x60 spüotting scope was produced as a prototype in a small batch of 5 pieces by the "Rathenower Optische Werke" (ROW) about 1961. It was probably inteded to be a budget alternative to the VEB Carl Zeiss Asiola. But the fusion of all GDR optical works into one VEB Carl Zeiss Jena state holding company seemed to have stopped this idea. The spotting scope was made up of one ROW marked telescope tube with its 60mm objective and an attached "Genira" prism monocular body. "Genira" written on th cover plate stands for the company "Gebrüder Nitschke Rathenow" (Nitschke Brothers Rathenow) which made many binoculars before WWII., and some after the war - also as a tradenaem by ROW (cf. Genira 6x30). The dioptre adjustment ranges from +3 to -4. |
| Ein zweites Exemplar hat einen grau-grün (über)lackierten Objektivtubus - ebenfalls mit einer ROW Kennzeichnung - und ein angesetztes schwarz lackiertes ROW 8x30 Monokular. Anders als beim 1. Exemplar gibt es beim 2. einen dünnen Ring zwischen dem Tubus und Monokulargehäuse, der es 3mm länger macht. | A second specimen has a greyish-green (over)painted objective tube - again with a ROW marking - and attached to it a black ROW 8x30 monocular. Differently to the first specimen the second one has a thin ring between the tube and monocular housing which adds 3mm to the length. |
| Das Spektiv ist 460-465mm lang. Das Gehäuse des Porro-1-Prismenglases ist 50x50mm bzw. 53x53mm breit. Der lange Objektivtubus ist am Ansatz 45mm und am Objektivende 78mm im Durchmesser. Das Okularstück misst 28mm, die Augenmuschel 33mm im Durchmesser. Das Gewicht ist 865g. | The scope is 460-465mm long. The hosuing of the porro 1 prism monocular measures 50x50mm at its top, and 53x53mm at its bottom. The long objective tube starts with a 45mm diameter and ends with a 78mm diameter. The eyepiece is 28mm, the eyecup 33mm in diameter. The 25x60 weighs 865g. |
