REL 7x50

Dieses R.E.L. 7x50 Monokular wird wohl eher die rechte Hälfte eines Fernglases sein (s. a. dieses REL 7x50. Entweder wurde der Brückenansatz bereits in der Firma oder später mit einer passenden strukturierten Hartgummischicht versehen. Wie das UCC 7x50 ist dieses 7x50 voll funktionstüchtig. Am Objektivtubus ist der "broad arrow" als Militärzeichen der British Commonwealth eingeprägt. Der obere Deckel ist mit "R.E.L./Canada 1944" beschriftet und dreifach verschraubt. Dort und unten am Gehäuse, welches in der typischen B&L-Form gebaut wurde, ist eine rot lackierte Schraube zum Befüllen mit Wasserstoff. REL (Research Enterprises Limited) wurde zu Beginn des 2. Weltkriegs gegründet und fertigte dieses Exemplar dann wohl 1944.
Die Augenmuschel ist aus Kunststoff. Die Dioptrienskala reicht von + bis - 4.

This R.E.L. 7x50 monocular presumably is rather the right-hand side of a binocular (also cf. this REL 7x50. Either the bridge base was already covered with a fitting textured hard rubber in the firm or later when taken in two halves. Like the UCC 7x50 this 7x50 is fully functional. The "broad arrow" is stamped into the objective barrel as sign of military possession (British Commonwealth). The top cover plate is marked "R.E.L./Canada 1944" and has three screws. There and below the typical B&L shaped housing is a red painted screw for letting in nitrogen. REL (Research Enterprises Limited) was founded at the beginning of WWII. This model was made in 1944.
The eyecup is made of plastic. The dioptre scale ranges from plus to minus four.

Das Monokular ist 182 bis 188mm lang, oben am Gehäuse 70x65mm und unten 75x65mm breit. Der Objektivtubus startet bei 54mm und endet mit 64mm im Durchmesser. Das Monokular wiegt 653g.
