Prismascope 8x30 Monocular

Dieses 8x30 Monokular, bezeichnet als "Prismascope" (s. Beschriftung) ist in der typischen Bausch & Lomb Bauform gefertigt, d.h. ein Gehäuse mit nur einem Deckel zur Okularseite hin und einem direkt angeschraubtem Objektiv. Die Porro-I-Prismen sind auf einem herausnehmbaren Gestell innen montiert. Das Monokular ist aus beige lackiertem Metall ohne jegliche Ummatelung. Es könnte daher möglicherweise beim Militär verwendet worden sein. die Augenmuschel ist aus Kunststoff. Es gibt keinen justierebaren Dioptrienausgleich. Das Glas stammt wahrscheinlich aus der Zeit nach dem 2. Weltkrieg und wurde in Japan oder den USA gefertigt.

This 8x30 monocular, named "Prismascope" (s. label), shows the typical Bausch & Lomb construction, i.e. the body has only one cover at the ocular end, and an objective screwed directly into the other end. The porro I prisms are fixed to a holder inside which can be taken out completely. The monocular is made of beige painted metal without any covering. Thus, it could be a glass for military use. The eye-cup is made of plastic. There is no turnable dioptre adjustment. The glass dates probably from some time after WWII, made in Japan or the USA.

Der Objektivrahmendurchmesser ist 4,7cm, das Okular von 3,2cm mit einer 3,5mm Austrittspupille. Das abgerundete Gehäuse ist ca. 5x6cm breit und das Glas insgesamt 13cm lang. Es wiegt ca. 279g.

The objective frame has a 4.7 diameter, the ocular is 3.2cm in diameter with a 3.5mm exit pupil. The rounded housing is about 5x6cm in width and the glass has an overall length of 13cm. Weight is ca. 279g.
