Niggl Opernglas

Dieses einäugige Opernglas wurde von oder für Niggl in München (so laut der Gravur in geschwungener Handschrift am Auszugstubus) hergestellt. Es hat einen Messingauszugstubus, ein schwarz lackiertes Okular mit Abriebspuren, einen dunkelbraunen Holzhaupttubus und eine in Messing gefasste Objektivlinse. Zusammengeschoben ist es 6,8cm, ausgezogen 10,2 cm lang. Das Okular ist 25mm, das Objektiv 42mm im Durchmesser. Das Opernglas wiegt 89g. Das Glas wird wohl aus dem 19. oder Anfang des 20. Jh. stammen. Die Vergrößerung liegt bei ca. 3fach.

Niggl Spy-Glass

This one-eyed spy-glass was made for or by Niggl in Munich (acc. to the handscript engraving at the draw tube). It has a brass draw tube, a black painted ocualr piece with signs of wear, a dark brown wood tube, and am objective lens framed in a brass ring. Closed it is 6.8cm, extended it is 10.2cm in length. The ocular has a 25mm diamter, the objective 42mm. The opera glass weighs 89g. It could date either from the 19. or from the beginning ot the 20. century. Its magnification is about times.
