Das Somet ist aus Metall und hat eine Plastikaugenmuschel. Somit ähnelt ist sehr dem Zeiss Turmon. Die Optik ist unvergütet. Aufgrund des MEOPTA-Namens stammt es jedoch aus der Zeit nach dem 2. Weltkrieg. Die Aufbewahrungsdose ist aus Schaumstoff gefüttertem Kunststoff; der Schraubdeckel trägt das MEOPTA-Logo.
