| Das Monar 25x100 ist ein lichtstarkes und hoch vergrößerndes Fernrohr mit 45° Einblick. Es wurde nach dem 2. Weltkrieg zunächst in der Thuner (Teplice) Firma "Somet" und später von "Meopta" (Prerov) gebaut und vertrieben. Wann genau der Namenwechsel stattfand, ist bislang unbekannt. | The Monar 25x100 is a bright and high power spotting scope with a 45° angled view. It was made and sold after WWII. in the "Somet" factory in Teplice, and later by "Meopta" in Prerov. What year the change of the maker's name changed is unknown until now. |
| Es ist aus Aluminium und schwarz lackiert. Das Okular hat eine Dioptrienskala von + bis - 4, ist jedoch nicht mit Ziffern markiert, und einen Referenzstrich an der linken Seite. Die Sonnenblende ist angeschrägt. Am konischen Tubus ist eine Stativgabelhalterung befestigt, die sich auch auf ein Tischstativ befestigen ließ. Das kastenförmige Prismengehäuse ist schräg nach unten eingegossen und hat einen vierfach verschraubten Deckel. Dieser ist zur oberen Kante hin mit "Monar 25x100", und der Seriennummer und unten mit "Made in Czechoslavakia" beschriftet. Je nach Modell befindet sich oben der Firmenname "Somet" im Linsenlogo oder unten das Meopta-Logo. | The telesocpe is made of alumium and lacquered black. The eyepiece has a dioptre scale ranging from plus to minus 4, but has no numbers engraved. There is a reference line on the left side of the eyepiece. The sunshade is sloped at its end. A tripod yoke is attached to the conical tube. It also fitted onto a table tripod. The cast-in prism housing is postiitioned diagonally downwards. Its cover plate is fixed with four screws and marked "Monar 25x100" and with the serial number near the upper end, also being marked "Made in Czechoslavakia" near the lower end. Depending on the model the compayn's name and logo is inscribed on the upper part (Somet) or lower part (Meopta). |
| Das Monar hat ein spezielles Prismensystem mit einem Dachkant-Umkehrprisma und einem 45° Ablenkprisma (s. Artikel unten). Dabei ist das eine Prismenteil seitlich versetzt am anderen angebracht. Die Optik ist blau vergütet. | The Monar is built with a special prism system consisting of a image-erecting roof-prism and a 45° reflecting prism (see article below). One prism piece is set-off the centre line of the other prism. The optics are coated blue. |
| Das Spektiv ist 52cm lang, der 26cm lange konische Tubus verbreitert sich von 60mm auf 102mm im Durchmesser. Die Sonnenblende ist unten 95mm, oben 120mm lang und 112mm im Durchmesser. Das Prismengehäuse misst 135x73x102mm, wobei die Seitenflächen fünfeckig sind, so dass die untere Kante lediglich 85mm lang ist. Das Okularstück ist 38mm und der Fokussierungsring 42mm im Durchmesser. Die Stativgabelachse ist ca. 14cm breit und vom Achsmittelpunkt bis nach unten auch 14cm lang. | The spotting scope is 52cm long; the 26cm longe conical tube increases from 60mm to 102mm in diameter. The sunshade is 95mm long at its bottom and 120mm long at its top and is 112mm in diameter. The prism housing measures 135x73x102mm, while the sides are pentagonal so that the lower edge is only 85mm long. The eyepeice is 38mm and the focusing ring is 42mm in diameter. The tripod yoke is c. 14cm wide and also 14cm tall from the centre of the axle to the bottom end. |
