Huet "Aerost" x12

Das 12x40 Monokular hat die Bezeichnung "Aerost" x12. Die obere Deckelaufschrift besagt, dass es von "Jules Huet & Cie" in Paris gebaut wurde. Der obere Deckel ist außerdem mit "Nouvelle maison" (neues Haus) und "fondée en 1913" (1913 gegründet) beschriftet. Es stammt vermutlich aus den 1920er Jahren.
Das Gehäuse ist aus schwarz lackiertem Aluminium mit einer Rauhlackummantelung und einer angeschraubten Tragriemenöse an einem halblangen Metallstreifen. Das rechtsseitige Okular hat eine Bakelitaugenmuschel und eine Dioptrienskal von + bis - 10. Wie das Huet 20x50 hat das Okular ein Linksgewinde, hingegen anderer üblicher Rechtsgewinde. Die Optik ist nicht vergütet. Das Glas hat ein Porro-1-Prismensystem. Der Köcher ist im Deckel mit dem Vertreibernamen "Reynolds & Branson, Leeds" sowie am inneren Lederrand mit dem Eigentümernamen aus Thirsk in Yorkshire beschriftet.

The housing is made of black painted aluminium with a crinkle paint covering and a screwed-on strap lug. The lug is part of a metal lip being half the length of the housing. The right-hand sided ocular comes with a Bakelite eyecup and a dioptre scale from +10 to -10. Like the Huet 20x50 the ocular has a left-hand thread in contrast to common right-hand threads. The optics are uncoated. The monocular has a porro 1 prism system. The leather case is marked with the seller's agency "Reynolds & Branson, Leeds", and inside at the leather rim with an owner's name "Davies" from Thirsk in Yorkshire.

Das Okular ist 24mm, der Fokussierungsring 32,5mm und die Augenmuschel 37mm im Durchmesser. Das "Aerost" wiegt 378g ohne Behälter.
