Huet Lunette B3

Die Beschriftungsplatten des Holzkasten und des Visiers "Lunette B3" weisen es auch durch das Logo, als Huet-Produkt mit der Modellzuweisung SGO 1936 (Société Générale d'Optique). Die Deckelbeschriftung des Visiers gibt das Gewicht mit 800g an, eine Messung ergibt 829g. Die Seriennummer ist 26442. Die verblichene Schrift auf dem Papierschild am Kasten datiert es auf 1940. An welchem Geschütz oder Gewehr es Verwendung fand, bleibt derzeit unbekannt. Die optischen Werte sind 2,5x15. Vor das Objektiv lässt sich ein grünes Filterglas klappen. Daneben befindet sich am Gehäuse eine Schraube als Öffnung für ein Trockenluftgerät. Die zum Beobachter gerichtete Dioptrienskala reicht von +2 bis -5. Der Fokussierungsring lässt sich mit der Gummiaugenmuschel heraus ziehen und hinein schieben, so dass die Nutzung auch für Brillenträger geeignet ist. Dabei wird dieser Augenmuschelteil in einem L-förmigen Schlitz geführt und lässt sich im ausgezogenen Zustand durch Drehen in Endbogen einhaken. Am Sockel gibt es jeweils eine Nut zum Befestigen auf einem Geschütz oder Gewehr.

The labelling plates of the wooden case and of the sight "Lunette B3" show - also by the logo - that it is a Huet make with the model dsignation SGO 1936 (Société Générale d'Optique). The cover inscription of the sight states ist weight as being 800gram, but weighing it results into 829g. The serial number is 26442. The fainted script on the paper label on the box states 1940 as the year of issue. It is unknown at the moment what gun or rifle it was used on. The optical specifications are 2.5x15. A green filter glass can be swung in front of the objective lens. Next to it is a screw which serves as an opening for a desiccation apparatus. The dioptre scale is orientated towards the observer. it ranges from +2 to -5. The focusing ring and the rubber eyecup can be pulled to and fro so that it is suitable for spectacle wearers. This eyecup part is guided in a L-shaped slit. When extended, it can be hooked in the bow at the end of the slit. There is a groove on each side of the base of the housing to mount it to some gun.

Das Visier arbeitet mit einem sehr kompakten Abbe-König-Prisma (evtl. sogar ein Schmidt-Pechan-Prisma). Die vorhandene Strichplatte ist ein Fadenkreuz mit 3 parallelen vertikalen Linien, wobei die zentrale etwas dünner ist.

The sight comes with a rather compact Abbe-König prism (probably it even is a Schmidt-Pechan prism). The reticle has cross-hairs with three parallel vertical lines, while the central line is thinner.

Das Visier ist 91-107mm lang je nach Dioptrieneinstellung und Augenmuschelposition. Das Okularstück ist 42mm, der Fokussierungsteil mit der Augenmuschel ist 52mm im Durchmesser. Die Objektivfassung ist 31mm. Das quaderförmige Gehäuse ist 50x46x51mm groß. Die 13x9x9cm große Holzkiste wiegt 355g.

The sight is 91-107 mm long depending on the dioptre adjustment and eyecup position. The eyepiece is 42 mm, the focusing ring and the eyecup are 52 mm in diameter. The objective frame is 31 mm. The square block body is 50x46x51 mm. The 13x9x9 cm wooden box weighs 355 g.
