FOS 12x52

Die Beschriftung auf dem Deckel lautet: "1909 г" (steht für das Jahr), "ФОСЪ ВАРШАВА" (= FOS Warschau) "No 3293" und an anderer Stelle "Д" (= D) in einem Rahmen.
This porro 2 mopnopcular or director telescope has 15x852 specifications. It might have been attached to some instrument. The obejctive end is missing a covering ring or the sundshade. The tube has a groove near the prism housing probably filed into the metal at a later time. The sloping cover seems to be a conversion of a previous cover on a eyepiece turret; below the lacquering and on the inside of the cover, there is a second round threaded hole, which was closed with a soldered-on metal piece. The markins on the cover are: "1909 г" (stands for the yeart), "ФОСЪ ВАРШАВА" (= FOS Warsaw), "No 3293" and on the opposite side "Д" (= D) within a square. Because Poland was under Russian occupation at that time, they use Cyrillic letters.

After WWI the former employees of FOS returned, and set up the companies Kolberg and later PZO. (cf. info about Ginsberg and about PZO's history).
