Carl Zeiss London 6x25

Dieses Carl Zeiss Monokular wurde in der Londoner Filliale gefertigt und trägt daher auf dem Deckel die Beschriftung mit "Carl Zeiss London" im Linsenlogo. Vom Besitzer wird es als 6x25 Monokular identifiziert. Da es kein offizielles 6x25 Glas gab, könnte es sich entweder um eine Londoner Extranafertigung oder eigentlich um ein 6x24 Modell handeln, dann wäre es ca. in der Zeit zwischen 1912 und dem ersten Weltkrieg produziert. Da Zeiss London bei Beginn des 1. WK nicht mehr existierte, muss es auf jeden Fall zwischen 1904 (Logo!) und 1914 gefertigt worden sein. Die Bauweise und Art ist gleich den anderen Zeiss-Modellen der Zeit. Es hat ein linksseitiges Okular und eine Lederummantelung. Der obere Deckel ist mit "S.2.M 10.446" und "G" beschriftet.

This Carl Zeiss monocular was made in the London branch and so is marked with the Zeiss lens logo and "Carl Zeiss London" inside it. The owner identifies it as a 6x25 glass, but as there was no such official version, it could be a special London model or tuely a 6x24 version. Being a 6x24 it dates back to 1912 until WWI. At least it was made between 1904 (logo!) and 1914, as the London branch existed no longer when the war started. The design and cosntruction is the one of contemporary Zeiss models. It has a left-hand sided ocular- piece and a leather covering. The top cover plate is marked "S.2.M 10.446" and "G".
