Busch Prisma-Monocle "Ultralux" 6x

Das 6x25 "Ultralux" (Telegrammwort: Monultra)stammt aus der früheren Busch-Serie, die in lateinischen Buchstaben mit "BUSCH PRISMA-MONOCLE", aber ohne Busch-Logo beschriftet sind. Ultralux-Modelle gab es ab ca. 1903. Gleiche Baureihen waren mit "Doppelt Licht", teils mit dem Vorsatz "Stereo ..." im Katalog benannt - 'Stereo' für den nunmehr gebauten erweiterten Objektivabstand der Fernglasmodelle. Beide Namen wiesen auf eine erhöhte Lichtstärke hin. Die 3/3 Augenmuschel ist nicht original, da auf ihr die eingravierte Vergrößerungsangabe fehlt (vgl. Ultralux 8x). Alle Metallteile sind schwarz lackiert, das Gehäuse ist mit braunem Leder ummantelt und hat eine Naht. Eine kurze Trageriemenöse ist mit 2 Schräubchen an der Gehäuseseite links vom linksseitigen Okular befestigt.

This 6x25 "Ultralux" model (telegram word: "Monultra") belongs to the early Busch series which is marked in Latin letters "BUSCH PRISMA-MONOCLE", but does not have the later Busch logo. Ultralux models were offered since about 1903. The same production series was also called "Doppelt Licht" (double light), sometimes with the prefix "Stereo ..." named in the catalogues - 'Stereo' because of the extended objective distance used for the binocular models then. The 3/3 eyecup is not original, because it does is not engraved with the monocular's power (cf. Ultralux 8x). All metal parts are lacquered black. The housing is covered with brown leather still having a seam. A short strap lug is attached with two screws at one side of the housing left of the left-hand sided eyepiece.

Das Ultralux ist 110-115mm lang und am Gehäuse oben 44x44mm und unten 49x50 breit, erweitert sich leicht nach unten hin mit einer kegelförmigen Ausbuchtung im Gegensatz zu den geraden Gehäusen der Vorgänger-Prisma-Monocles wie "Lynkop". Die Objektivfassung ist 28,5mm, der Okulartubus 21mm und die (ersetzte) Augenmuschel 33mm im Durchmesser. Die Objektivlinse ist um 7 mm in die gerillte Fassung zurückversetzt. Das Monocle wiegt 189g.

The Ultralux is 110-115mm long and measures 44x44 at the top of the housing and 49x50 at its bottom, that is the body widens a little towards the bottom having a sort of conical bulge contrary to the predecessor 'Prisma-Monocles' like the "Lynkop". The objective frame is 28.5mm, the eyepiece 21mm and the substituted eyecup 33mm in diameter. The objective lens is recessed by 7 mm into the grooved frame. The "Monocle" weighs 189g.
