Bausch & Lomb 6-8x30

Mit Nahlinsen Dieses Bausch & Lomb Monokular ist eine Sonderkonstruktion mit einem Auszug-Okular und fünf Nahlinsen. Da das Okular um 28mm herausgezogen werden kann, ist bei eingeschobenen Okular in größerer Entfernung eine 6fache Vergrößerung vorhanden, bei komplett herausgezogenenm Okular bei 60cm Scharfstellung eine ungefähr 8fache Vergrößerung erreichbar. Der Objektivdurchmesser ist 30mm. Das Okular hat eine Fadenkreuz-Strichplatte und dient eventuell mit den am Objektiv aufsteckbaren Nahlinsen für eine Visierung und Kontrolle in der Nähe. Es handelt sich somit um eine so genannte Fernrohrlupe. Die Gesamtvergrößerung multipliziert sich um den Vergrößerungsfaktor der Vorsatzlinsen mit der des Fernrohrs, so dass sehr hohe Vergrößerungen erreicht werden können.

With close-up lenses This Bausch & Lomb monocular is a special design having an extendable eyepiece and five close-up lenses. Due to the eyepiece, which extends by 28 mm, when the eyepiece is fully closed, a magnification of 6x is provided for distant viewing; when the eyepiece is fully extended and focused at a distance of 60 cm, a magnification of approximately 8x is achievable. The objective lens has a diameter of 30 mm. The eyepiece is equipped with a reticle with a cross-hair and—potentially in conjunction with the close-up lenses that slip on to the objective—serves as a sighting and inspection tool for close-range work. It can, therefore, classified as a so-called "telescopic magnifier." The total magnification is multiplied by the magnification factor of the auxiliary lenses with the monocular telescope's power, allowing for the achievement of very high magnifications.

Das Monokular und die Nahlinsen sind in einem Fernglas-Lederköcher untergebracht, wobei innen an einer Seite der Stützklotz weggenommen wurde, so dass die faltbare Lederhülle (rechteckige Form) mit den Aufstecklinsen hinein passt. Die Linsen werden durch Riemen gehalten. Im Köcherdeckel ist das Dreieckslogo im Kreis mit der Beschriftung von B&L eingeprägt (s. u.).

The monocular and the close-up lenses are housed in a leather binocular case; a support block on one side of the interior has been removed to accommodate the rectangular, foldable leather pouch containing the slip-on lenses. The lenses are secured by straps. The circular triangular logo, bearing the B&L inscription (cf. below), is embossed on the lid of the case.

Das Monokular selbst hat einfach verschraubte, schwarz lackierte Deckel. Der obere ist mit dem B&L-Logo, einem Dreieck mit abgeschrägten Ecken in einem Kreis graviert. Im Dreieck steht "USA", kreisförmig darum "Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y.". Der untere Deckel trägt die Seriennummer 197776. Vermutlich wurde es zwischen 1920 und 1940 gefertigt.

The monocular itself has black painted covers with only one screw. The upper cover is engraved with the B&L logo—a triangle with rounded corners enclosed within a circle. The word "USA" is written inside the triangle, while "Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y." is inscribed in a circle around it. The lower cover bears the serial number 197776. It was likely manufactured between 1920 and 1940.

Das Gehäuse mit einer halbrunden eingegossenen Trageriemenöse hat eine anthrazit-farbene strukturierte Hartgummiummantelung. Das Okular hat einen x-geriffelte Fokussierungsring und eine Bakelitaugenmuschel. Alle Messingteile sind schwarz lackiert.

The housing has a curved, cast-in strap lug, is covered in a textured, anthracite-colored hard rubber coating. The eyepiece features a cross-knurled focusing ring and a Bakelite eyecup. All brass components are finished in black lacquer.

Das Monokular wiegt 322g, die Linsen zwischen 23 und 51g, deren Hülle 47g und der Köcher 226g. Das 6-8x30 ist 115 - 140mm lang. Das Gehäuse misst oben 50x50mm und unten 53x54mm. Die Objektivfassung ist 34,5mm und die Aufstecklinsen sind 36,5mm im Durchmesser. Das Okularstück ist 23mm, der Fokussierungsteil 31mm und die Augenmuschel 34mm. im Durchmesser.

The monocular weighs 322 g, the lenses between 23 and 51 g, their case 47 g, and the case 226 g. The 6-8x30 is 115–140 mm long. The housing measures 50 x 50 mm at the top and 53 x 54 mm at the bottom. The objective mount is 34.5 mm, and the slip-on lenses are 36.5 mm in diameter. The eyepiece is 23 mm, the focusing section 31 mm, and the eyecup 34 mm in diameter.
