Bausch & Lomb 3x14 Monocular

This small monocular was made by Bausch & Lomb after Zeiss licence. The top cover plate is labelled with a double circle which denotes a B&L make. The inner circle is inscribed with "3x" as well as "PAT. MAR. 22. 1897" and below "PAT. OCT. 23. 1902". Between the two circles it is marked "Zeiss Stereo Field Glass". Although named "Stereo" it is a true monocular, as B&L may have named this licenced glass after the Zeiss Stereo Field Glass, and moreover there are not any traces of a bridge attachment. Date of production is 1902 or a bit later according to the patent dates.
The right-hand sided ocular has a dioptre adjustment from plus to minus 3, only marked with +, - and zero. The eyecup is made of plastic, as well as the covering of the housing. The latter is some textured anthracite coloured plastic. The aluminium parts are painted black. The cover plates have three screws.
